PASTOR George, Jr. & ANGELA

Rev. George W. Waddles, Jr. accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior on April 11, 1976, at the Ninth Street Baptist Church in Lawrence, Kansas, and was baptized there by Rev. Carl Johnson.   He was licensed to preach the Gospel on December 16, 1984, at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of his father, Rev. Dr. George W. Waddles, Sr. He was also ordained at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church on December 1, 1995.

He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Truman State University, a Master of Theology with a concentration in Pastoral Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Master of Educational Administration from Texas A&M Texarkana.

He served Sunset Missionary Baptist Church of Texarkana, Texas from October 2003 through March of 2014 as Pastor. He accepted the call to serve the Second Baptist Church of Ypsilanti, Michigan, as Pastor in March of   2014.

At Second Baptist, Pastor Waddles has worked with ministry teams to identify a vision of Connection, Commitment, and Community. He has served as a lecturer and instructor in the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, dean in the Wolverine State Convention and Huron Valley District Association. He also served as Dean and currently serves as  President of the Huron Valley District Congress of Christian Education.    

Pastor Waddles has been married to his best friend and the love of his life, Angela (Rogers) Waddles for more than twenty-six years and the Lord has blessed them with three wonderful children: Erin, Zachary, and Andrew.
